Alien vs. Predator: Can't We All Just Get Along?

Aliens and Predator used to be renowned horror series, but their latest entries have devolved into uninspired action and camp. So it seems fitting that Sky TV of New Zealand has promoted their recent Alien vs. Predator marathon with these advertisements:
If only more galactic conflicts could be resolved so cerebrally. It may not make for great cinema, but it's a heckuva lot more relatable. For more love between these two extraterrestrial foes, check out the web comic Alien Loves Predator.

Galactic conflicts, heck I'd love to see Palestinians and Jews, or any other of a number of warring factions on Earth just do a little annual sports to show "who's the best". :-)

Good point, Steve. The word "galactic" wasn't in my original draft of that post, actually.
The book The Religion War, by Scott Adams (of "Dilbert" fame), was published five years ago. In one scene, the story's fictional versions of George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden are sat down for a game of chess, winner-take-all.
Sounds silly — but no more so than sending thousands of our sons and daughters to "resolve our differences."
(This comment is not meant as a slam against the rightness or wrongness of any particular war, but as an observation on the necessity and futility of ANY war.)
FWIW, The Religion War is a sequel to God's Debris, which is available as a free download.

Here's a behind-the-scenes making-of feature for the above ads.
