The Circle Is Now Complete

Posted on May 25, 2007Feb 1, 2022 by Ken Gagne

At last, this is the day we've all been counting down to: the 30th anniversary of Star Wars. On May 25th, 1977, A New Hope debuted, forever changing the scape of film and American culture.

I don't remember Star Wars having ever been in the news this much — not even when the prequels were coming out. With the commemorative stamps coming out today, documentaries being filmed, and specials on television airing soon, it seems everyone has their minds on a galaxy far, far away. Here are some of the best Star Wars spotlights for you to observe today:

Actor Angus MacInnes, Gold Squadron leader from A New Hope, talks about how his minor role of three decades ago has made and kept him famous.

Wizard Magazine presents the results of its poll on the best scenes, characters, and lines of the six films.

Star Wars tops CNN's list of the best "quest" films ever.

Atom Films hosts the annual Star Wars Fan Film contest. Check out the dozens of humorous entries!

This weekend, Biography will present portraits of George Lucas and Harrison Ford.

And most important, be sure to catch The History Channel's special, Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed, airing Monday at 9 PM. This trailer gives us a glimpse into the history of the franchise and the influences that made it what it is:

May the force be with you… always!
